NEW LIFE FOR A DATTO 1600

Matt Brooker from Centennial Motors is not afraid of a bit of work.  With family members
Mick and Dave, they had a vision to bring back to life a 1971 Datsun 1600.

You've got to start somewhere.
You've got yo start somewhere!

They took it apart and started from scratch.
No doubt, dreaming of the finished product helped keep the vision alive.

Pretty as a picture.
Pretty as a picture.

A stylish paintjob and shiny wheels made sure that the modified car would
turn heads wherever it went.  But it wasn't until you looked under the bonnet
that you realised that this little baby had some serious grunt.

The back end looking sweet.

Eventually the Brookers passed the project onto their friend Nathan, who saw it
through to the finish with a seriously loud turbo, three times the original
horsepower and Skyline front brakes to slow the beast down.

Clean as a whistle in there.

Looks (and sounds) like an air raid siren

The finished Datsun is a fine example of a great looking street car, light and powerful
seriously noisy but retaining an understated sense of style.

Off round the town.
